Fort Dix was one of the only two bases that has Basic Training for female soldiers. The barracks for the girls going through Reception was right across from ours and on the same floor. On May 2, 1966, the Third Army General Order 161 also required the activation of the Basic Combat Training Center at Fort Campbell.
